Day 1 | Airport - Negombo
Travel Time – Approx. 30 Minutes| 15 kms A warm welcome awaits you at the arrival lounge of the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake. Your designated guide will welcome you and transfer to Negombo. Arrive at the hotel, Check-In Dinner and overnight stay at hotel.
DAY 2 | Negombo - Anuradapura
Travel Time –Approx. 3 hrs | 160 kms After breakfast pick up at 10.00 am and leisurely proceed to Anuradhapura. Check-in to the hotel and leisure Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 3 | Anuradapura - Sigiriya
Travel Time – Approx. 1 ½ hrs | 75 Kms After breakfast at the hotel visit Anuradhapura ancient city, the first capital that was founded in the 05th century BC here is found the largest number of ancient monuments of a great civilization. Buddhism found its first real home in Sri Lanka at Anuradhapura, and it thus contains some of Sri Lankan Buddhism’s most sacred sites. The “Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura, planted from a cutting from the original “Bo Tree” under which the Buddha received enlightenment, continues to draw thousands of Buddhist pilgrims from around the world. The pillars of the brazen palace which once had nine stories, the image of the Samadhi Buddha which is one of the finest pieces of Buddhist sculpture, the twin ponds, guard-stones, and the moon-stones are amazing remains of a great civilization. There are also monuments such as Ruwanveli Seya Dagoba with its famous elephant wall from the 2nd Century B.C. and the ThuparamaDagoba from the 3rd Century B.C. Thereafter proceed to Sigiriya Arrive and check-in to the hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at the hotel.
DAY 4 | SIGIRIYA
After breakfast at the hotel climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress (Lion’s Rock), one of the most extraordinary artistic complexes of its time (477–498 AD). This magnificent citadel, declared as a UNESCO heritage site in 1982, allures artistic and architectural curiosity from around the globe. Return to the hotel. Afternoon proceed to Polonnaruwa and set on a sightseeing tour of Polonnaruwa – the Medieval Kingdom from the 11th to the 13th century. Ethnic harmony prevailed between the Sinhalese and the Tamils during this period. Buddhist and Hindu Temples located in the same complex and many other ruins symbolizes this fact. The Palaces, Huge granite sculptures and the massive tanks and complex irrigation systems built by the Great Kings conveys the extent of development that existed in this middle history period. Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay
DAY 5 | Sigiriya
After Breakfast, walk through Augandawa Village, visit the local temple, and evoke blessings from the Buddhist monk. Pass through the village, paddy fields and Chena cultivation, and stop by a small wayside tea shop to quench your thirst with a local tea or a king coconut. Return to the hotel and join a cooking demonstration to prepare a few spicy Sri Lankan dishes. Enjoy a Sri Lankan rice and curry lunch. Afternoon safari at Minneriya National Park, this is a national park in North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchment of Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. Return to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
DAY 6 | Sigiriya - Kandy
Travel Time – Approx. 2 ½ hour | 90 kms After breakfast leave for Kandy. En-route, visit Dambulla Cave Temple, the magnificent rock temple in Dambulla, a world heritage site built in the first century BC. It is recognized to be the largest cave sanctuary in the world with its 2000 m2 of walls and ceilings painted with more than 150 Buddha images, the largest of which is engraved in the rock and reaches 14 meters. Thereafter, visit the Spice Garden in Matale. Arrive, check into hotel. Afternoon, embark on a sightseeing tour in the city of Kandy. Kandy was the hill capital from 1514 to 1815 AD. Originally known as Senkadagala, the city eventually came to be known as Kandy. Kandy was declared as a UNESCO heritage site in 1988. The style and character of the Sri Lankan civilization at the time are well articulated in the heart of the city itself, with its lake, the temples, including the Temple of the Tooth Relic, and the well-preserved ruins of the royal palaces Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
DAY 7 | Kandy
After breakfast at the hotel visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic of the Buddha, the founder of Buddhism. The sacred relic was brought to Sri Lanka in the 4th century A.D. The sacred relic has ever since been the symbol of sovereignty for its ruler and is always enshrined in great splendor. Afternoon visit Royal Botanic Garden The Royal Botanic Gardens at Peradeniya where you could treat your eyes to an amazing, wide, and rare collection of tropical and temperate, exotic and indigenous flora, and an orchid house with the largest collection in Asia. Later afternoon, enjoy a typical Sri Lankan cultural dance performance Return to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
DAY 8 | Kandy - Nuwara Eliya
Travel Time – Approx. 2½ hrs | 80 kms, After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya . Then board the train from the Kandy Railway Station and proceed on a picturesque train ride to Nanu oya A train journey is truly a rare experience and an adventure in itself! Apart from the breathtaking scenery of the tea country and picturesque waterfalls, it is a chance for you to mingle with the local people. ** Train ride – only on seats availability ** Thereafter Proceed to Nuwara eliya En route visit a tea plantation and a factory. Here you will enjoy the absolute tea experience, taking you from the moment the young tea leaves are plucked from the plantation to being processed in the factory to make a steamy cup of tea. If you are interested, the tea factory is the best place to purchase good quality tea. Thereafter set on a sightseeing tour in the city of Nuwara Eliya Nuwara Eliya is situated in the heart of tea country, a beautiful town where the British have succeeded. in creating a replica of the English countryside, with houses in styles ranging from Georgian to Queen Anne. Well-tended lawns with hedges, an Anglican church, a famous and beautiful golf course and parks give the place an air of nostalgia. DaY 09 | Nuwara Eliya
Optional – Early morning proceed to do a trekking tour at Horton Plains National park with a packet breakfast. (USD 65 per person) Horton Plains National Park, a “Cloud Forest Reserve,” is notable for its unique watershed and high biodiversity. The park features diverse wet low evergreen forests and is home to 52 resident and 11 migrant bird species. It also supports a range of wildlife, including sambhur, bear monkeys, leopards, and giant squirrels. Key attractions include “World’s End” and “Little World’s End,” which offer dramatic drops of 1,000 and 3,000 feet, respectively, and Baker’s Falls. DaY 10 | Nuwara Eliya - Yala / Tissmaharama
Travel Time – Approx. 4 ½ hrs / 180 kms. After breakfast, leave for Yala / Tissamaharama via Ella. En-route you will witness the Ravana Water Falls. Arrive and check-in to the hotel. Afternoon, enjoy a jeep safari at Yala National Park. The Yala National Park is situated in the South East of Sri Lanka and offers wildlife enthusiasts an approach of life time to see wild boar, deer, leopards, crocodiles, monkeys in their national surroundings. DaY 11 | Yala - Tissamaharama - Beach
Travel Time – Approx. 3 hrs / 198 kms. After breakfast leave for your beach hotel. En route, set on a sightseeing tour of the Galle Fort, built by the Portuguese in the late 16th century and later expanded by the Dutch in the 17th century, it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The fort is renowned for its well-preserved colonial architecture, including its ramparts, bastions, and old buildings. It features a blend of European and South Asian influences and is a vibrant cultural and historical hub with charming streets, boutique shops, and cafés.
